Serving YUST, PUST, the NK Children Program, and YIA
Partner with PUST
One of the greatest, daily challenges PUST faces is financing the most fundamental of operations. Providing for basic needs is an invaluable way to connect to the students. Your support of Partner with PUST will help cover the school's essential operating costs, affording the leadership and faculty the freedom to focus on PUST's mission: to educate and inspire. Partner with us as we undertake this historic opportunity with the future leaders of North Korea at PUST.
This year, we are specifically raising funds to help feed the PUST community. Food is not only one of the most basic necessities PUST provides to every student, professor, and staff member on campus, but also one of the school's greatest outreach opportunities. Mealtimes bring students and faculty together in a setting that allows for deeper conversations and connections to form. It is in these simple, yet profound moments that His love and truth can break through into the hearts and minds of PUST students. Help continue to make these opportunities possible by making a donation today!
YUST PUST Foundation (북미 연변평양과학기술대학 후원회)
YUST PUST Foundation advocates for our affiliated institutions to achieve their mission of educating the next generation of leaders in China and North Korea, and to aid humanitarian efforts in North Korea. YPF acts as an intermediary organization from North America to provide resources to the Yanbian University of Science and Technology (YUST), Yanbian International Academy (YIA), Pyongyang University of Science and Technology (PUST), and North Korean Children Program (NK Children). YPF also bridges the two universities to North American organizations and individuals who share a passion for their mission. As a faith-based, nonprofit organization, YPF seeks to expand the mission of our affiliated institutions by providing dedicated faculty members in order to educate and equip students to become key members of their societies. Additionally, YPF seeks to provide humanitarian aid to create more opportunities for children in need.
Yanbian University of Science & Technology
As the first Chinese joint-venture university founded through the collaboration of the People’s Republic of China and numerous volunteers, Yanbian University of Science & Technology (YUST) has grown to become one of the top universities in the Yanbian Autonomous Prefecture of China. The university hopes to prepare its students to become leaders for the next generation of China and the world at large. Acting as role models, the international YUST professors are devoted to their students’ academic development to see them become individuals of service to their community, country, and the world. YUST establishes a firm commitment to educate based on the principles of creativity, cooperation, and volunteerism to further the university’s motto of “truth, peace, love.”
Yanbian International Academy (연변국제학교)
Yanbian International Academy (YIA) is an international Christian private school for K-12 students. YIA provides American curriculum to the children of YUST faculty members. YIA is well known for its dedicated and professional teachers. They bring with them a myriad of experiences, all attributing to how learning takes place in and out of the classroom. YIA students are greatly impacted by the combination of small class sizes and loving teachers. In June 2013, YIA held its first commencement for its graduating seniors, with many accepted by prestigious colleges in America.
Pyongyang University of Science & Technology
Having its first graduating class in 2014, Pyongyang University of Science & Technology (PUST) desires to educate students to develop infrastructure within North Korea and reinforce the value of personal character. PUST’s curricula offer a range of applied majors pertinent to real life in North Korea and also promote the concepts of peace and prosperity. With the completion of their studies, students are equipped with a global perspective that reaches across disciplines to develop their country. They are also given tools to engage in shared international efforts, drawing from their exposure to cross-cultural ideas and regular interactions with PUST’s international professors.
PUST Faculty (평양과기대 교직원)
All faculty members who receive donations through YPF have set up personal donation pages. Please contact the faculty member to whom you wish to give, and he/she will provide you with the link to their personal page. You can also reach YPF at ypfadmin@yustpust.org.
North Korean Children Program (북한어린이 후원)
Jointly operated by YPF, NAFEC Seoul, and YUST, the North Korean Children Program (NK Children) is a charitable program for children ages 10 and under specifically in the rural northeastern region of North Korea, where the need is greatest. A total of 33,000 children in eight regions have been reached through NK Children since its inception. The program provides children with food, milk, medicine, and clothing on a monthly basis. YUST staff members purchase these provisions and deliver them directly to the children and their caretakers. Contributions can be made in two separate ways: donating to monthly provisions for the children, and fulfilling the need for special provisions during exceptional circumstances such as natural disasters or food shortages.
YPF is committed to supporting the Yanbian University of Science and Technology (YUST) in China, and the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology (PUST) in North Korea, through Christian-based spiritual, academic, and financial resources in North America. YPF serves as a hub to connect the two universities to organizations and individuals in North America who share common values and vision.
